Download BlueStacks here - Learn how to customize the engine settings like CPU, RA. Virtualization allows a single processor to run different operating systems simultaneously and it is a requisite for running BlueStacks efficiently. Once you have entered the BIOS settings in your PC, the steps for enabling virtualization will vary according to the CPU you have. Based on the CPU you have in your PC, click on one of the links below. In Engine settings, there are many new options like Graphics Mode, CPU and RAM allocation. These three things can define the BlueStacks 4 performance on your PC or Laptop. So, If you have a Graphics card (integrated or external) then you can go with OpenGL setting.
1. Disable Windows Update
There is a reason why I included that step. Windows can often automatically start downloading and updating new windows updates without even notifying the user. This utilizes more CPU and leaves very little room for any other apps to run smoothly. All you have to do is:
- Open Settings (Windows + I)
- Open ‘Update and Security’
- Press the ‘Pause updates for 7 days‘
- Close the Window
2. Change Processor Power Settings (For laptops)
If you are on a laptop running on battery power, Windows will reduce the amount of power it sends to processor cores. This affects the overall performance of your pc as the processor is not running at its full potential. We need to tell Windows to supply maximum power even when the power cable is not connected. To do this:
- Open Control Panel
- Head over to ‘Power Options’
- Select ‘High Performance‘ and
- Click on ‘Change power plan‘
- Select ‘Change Advanced power settings’
- Set the values as given in the image below
3. Turn OFF Real-time protection
I don’t know if you have ever noticed but Windows Defender keeps on running continuously in the background. The service called ‘Antimalware Service Executable’ automatically starts whenever windows feel necessary and start eating up most of the valuable resources like CPU and RAM.
This is no good if it happens when you are playing games or using a resource-heavy app like Bluestacks 4. To turn this off:
- Open ‘Windows Security’ from the Settings App
- Click on ‘Virus & threat protection’
- Then Click on ‘Virus & threat protection settings’
- Turn OFF ‘Real-time protection’
If you are tired of these ways to speed up Bluestacks 4 on Windows 10 and or feeling insecure to apply them on your machine then you should see:
4. Disable Search Indexing
If you don’t use the Windows Search feature more frequently as I do. Then you should consider disabling ‘Search Indexing’. This is another process that Windows starts executing periodically in the background. It’s better to turn OFF. If you have a good PC then you won’t notice a difference but it is a great tip for systems with 4-8 GB RAM.
- Search for ‘Services’ in the windows search
- Locate and right-click on ‘Windows Search’
- Go to its ‘Properties’
- Change Startup type from ‘Automatic’ to ‘Disabled’
- Hit Apply and close the window
5. Allocate more Cores and RAM to Bluestacks 4
This step is necessary. Even if you have fully optimized your PC to run Bluestack, it won’t matter if you don’t allow Bluestacks to make use of all available resources. You have to allocate maximum Processor cores and available RAM to Bluestacks 4. To do this:
How to allocate more RAM to Bluestacks ?
- Open Bluestacks
- Go to ‘Settings’ from the lower right corner of the window
- Go to ‘Engine’
- Change CPU to custom and CPU Cores to the maximum that you have (In my case: 8)
- Change RAM to custom and stretch the bar to its maximumvalue
- Click ‘Restart Now’
6. Change Bluestacks 4 display settings
- Head over to ‘Display’ settings
- Select the resolution of your monitor (1920×1080 in my case)
- Change ‘DPI’ to 160 DPI for a smoother experience.
7. Change Bluestacks Notifications settings
Bluestacks Preferences Cpu Command
When a notification is needed to be prompted, the system has to halt the ongoing process and allocate a certain amount of resources in order to show that notification. This can result in frame drops while playing a game. It is best to turn all of them OFF.
- Go to ‘Notifications’ in the settings menu
- Turn OFF everything there is
- Don’t forget to hit ‘Save’
8. Check if the Virtualization is Enabled
Most of the time it will be enabled by default. However, Some old PCs and laptops might not support Virtualization. To check if Virtualization is turned ON on your system:
- Open your Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc)
- Head over to the ‘Performance’ Tab
- It will be visible under CPU utilizationgraph
If it is turned ON then you won’t need to do anything but if it is OFF then the only way to turn it ON is by going inside the BIOS of your machine like given below: Is logic easy to learn.
- Restart your PC
- When the manufacturer’s logo show up while booting up
- Keep pressing the F1 or F2 key till you see the BIOS menu
- Locate an ‘Advance’ or ‘Advanced settings’ tab
- There will be an option to turn Virtualization ON or OFF
- Turn that ON
- Save and Restart
- After restarting, check if the Virtualization is now enabled or not from Task Manager as shown above.
9. Turn off Windows services (For Low-End PCs)
This step is for laptops or desktops with less than 8GB of RAM. If you have only 4GB of RAM, then this step will impact the performance. Call of duty by year. There are certain Windows services that are most of the time unnecessary. However, they don’t use much RAM but if you really need to squeeze every last drop of available performance then you can choose to disable these below services for the greater good. Such services are:
- ELAN service
- Fax
- Geolocation service
- IP helper
- Print Spooler
- Remote registry
- Xbox live auth manager
- TCP/IP NetBIOS helper
- Xbox live game save
- Xbox live networking service
Free app slots. You will find these services by searching for ‘Services’ in the windows search bar as I have shown in Tip 4. These are safe to disable services that you can disable without any harm to your system.
10. Change pagefile settings (For Low-End PCs)

If you have a low amount of total available RAM then you should have a look at this feature. When your system runs out of RAM, it will use some space on your hard disk as RAM. Bonus ohne einzahlung 2020. https://shirt-software.mystrikingly.com/blog/visual-studio-c-mac-os-x. But we know that hard drives are slower than RAM so you will need to provide a specific amount of disk space that your windows can use as RAM. If you allocate more, Bluestacks will stutter heavily and if you allocate less, it will still lag as there is no extra RAM available.
- Open start
- Right-click on ‘My Computer’ icon
- Select ‘Properties’ from the ‘more’ option
- Click on ‘Advanced system settings’ from the left sidebar
- Click on the ‘Settings’ button from the Performance field
- Then go to the ‘Advanced’ tab
- In the virtual memory section, click ‘Change’
- Uncheck the ‘Automatically manage paging size for all drives’ option
- Select the ‘Custom size‘ option
- Set Initial size to 200MB
- Set Maximum size to 4096MB
- Click on the ‘Set’ button (Required)
- Then click on ‘OK’
- Click on ‘Apply’
- If it prompts you to restart, select ‘Restart now’
